Erica’s Approach to Therapy
Erica's approach is grounded in the belief that all people carry an inherent capacity for growth and self-awareness. She meets clients where they are, building a trusting, collaborative relationship before moving into therapeutic work — because the quality of the therapeutic relationship is itself part of the healing.
Her work helps clients build resilience, reconnect with what matters most, and move forward with practices that are genuinely meaningful to them rather than one-size-fits-all.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) EMDR is an empirically validated trauma treatment that uses bilateral stimulation to help clients reprocess traumatic memories and other distressing life experiences. When trauma occurs, the body stores the memory in a way that prevents natural healing — newer experiences become layered with earlier unprocessed ones, reinforcing painful patterns over time. EMDR allows clients to reprocess those memories and create new, healthier responses. Erica has completed EMDR basic training.
Attachment Therapy An approach focused on the relational patterns that shape how individuals connect, trust, and regulate emotions — supporting healthier relationships with both self and others.
Narrative Therapy A collaborative, strengths-based approach that helps clients separate themselves from their problems, reframe their experiences, and build empowering personal stories that deepen self-understanding and perspective.
Psychodynamic Principles A framework for exploring how unconscious patterns and past experiences continue to shape present emotions, behaviors, and relationships — fostering lasting insight and personal growth.
