What Stephanie Treats

A woman with shoulder-length reddish-brown hair sitting on a white armchair, writing in a notebook. She is wearing a black sweater, blue jeans, and black sandals. There is a small round side table with a purple tumbler next to her. Behind her, a window with a potted plant, books, and a decorative sign that says 'Be Brave' are visible.

Stephanie's Approach to Therapy

Stephanie's work is grounded in the belief that you are not your symptoms — and that the body and mind often carry pain in ways that don't always make sense to the person struggling. Experiences of abuse, neglect, rejection, or overwhelming life events can surface as anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, disordered eating, addiction, or relational struggles.

Her clinical approach is trauma-informed and integrative, drawing from:

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) EMDR is an evidence-based psychotherapy that helps clients process traumatic memories and reduce their lasting emotional impact. Stephanie has completed all requirements for EMDRIA certification and has advanced training in treating complex trauma, dissociation, and PTSD. She also provides EMDR consultation to other clinicians.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) IFS is a therapeutic model that works with the distinct "parts" of a person's inner world — the wounded, protective, and exiled aspects of self — to restore access to core healing and self-leadership.

Systems Theory This approach understands even complex mental health presentations through the lens of a person's cultural, familial, and relational context from childhood forward. It's inherently compassionate and non-pathologizing.

Whole-Person, Collaborative Care Stephanie coordinates with dietitians, physical therapists, chiropractors, and other providers when appropriate, honoring the interconnection between physical and emotional health.
