What Lauren Treats

Lauren believes in the transformative power of therapy and brings genuine energy and commitment to every session. She tailors her work to each client's unique needs and history, walking alongside them whether they are seeking to heal from the past, strengthen current relationships, or build the future they envision.

A core thread through Lauren's work is the intergenerational lens — the recognition that the patterns, wounds, and relational dynamics we carry often originated long before us, and that healing them can ripple forward through families for generations.

Her clinical approach draws from:

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) An evidence-based psychotherapy that addresses trauma and adverse life experiences beyond what talk therapy alone can reach, helping clients move toward lasting healing and resilience. Lauren has completed EMDR basic training.

Contextual Couples & Family Therapy An intergenerational approach that emphasizes fairness, accountability, and relational ethics as the foundation for rebuilding trust and healing within families and partnerships.

The Gottman Method A research-based framework for improving communication, resolving conflict, and deepening emotional connection in romantic relationships — one of the most extensively studied approaches in couples therapy.

Relational Life Therapy (RLT) A couples therapy model, developed by Terry Real, that helps partners break out of entrenched conflict cycles, build personal accountability, and cultivate genuine intimacy. Lauren’s training in RLT is ongoing.

Systems Theory A perspective that understands individual behavior and wellbeing through the lens of the familial, relational, and societal systems in which a person is embedded.

CBT and DBT Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) offer practical tools for managing anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, and relational challenges.
